Operating solely in the greater Sydney metropolitan area, Anglicare has become one of the largest and most admirable aged care and community service not-for-profit organisations in the country.

Its origins date back to 1856, when it was originally called The Church Society, founded to fund clergy and build new churches in Sydney.

The causes they support grew and adapted over the many years to come, just like their official name. It wasn’t until 2016 when Anglicare Sydney and Anglican Retirement Villages combined to form simply, Anglicare.

FAQs

Anglicare supports a wide range of social services in Sydney and beyond. Including retirement living, aged care facilities, food and financial assistance, youth support, and mental health facilities.

Most of the time when you donate clothes or other items to an Anglicare op shop, they’ll simply be sold in the same store. Those funds will then be used to support their causes.

There are more than 2,000 locations in Australia that accept clothing donations and other goods. Whether it’s an op shop or donation bin, there’s likely one near you. Visit the menu and select your city to start the search or visit the map.
